Construction of the Piccornet

(This page is incomplete - Work in Progress)

Besides a Piccolo you will also require the following items:

REQUIRED:

A good quality Heli Radio with 120 degree CCPM capability

MS Hornet CP Kit

A third servo

( NB: because the MS CP system is CCPM this servo will need to be the same make and model as your other two cyclic servos)

Main rotor mast from the Ikarus CP Kit (Part No: 68203)

1mm drill (and a good keen eye and hands :) )

OPTIONAL BUT RECOMMENDED:

Ikarus CP mast retaining collar (Part No: 68204)

(Setscrew collar is supplied is supplied in MS CP Kit but I prefer the Ikarus part as it will "give" under heavy impact and possibly save componenets from damage)

Ikarus CP servo mounting plate (Part No: 68218)

(Not necessary, but does assist in location of the rear servos on the Ikarus frame)

Orion Elite Modified Motor and suitable 8t pinion

(Once again not neccesary, but will provide much more power and longer flight times than the stock Ikarus G-295)

MS Hornet FP carbon fibre blades and suitable adaptors

(Nice blades if you are not doing 3-D. See photos page for adaptors that I made up by turning down old servo gears and adding steel washers - Thanks for the idea JohnK!!!)

8-cell Nicad pack(s)

(You may be able to fly with 7-cell, but 8-cell will proabably work better)
